Nowadays the society is developing very fast. There are computers in most households. Most people like surfing the Internet.
Why do so many people like surfing the Internet? Because it brings convenience to people’s life and work, such as searching for information, listening to music, playing games and communicating with others by using it. For example, lots of students have difficulty in designing a unit plan. They don’t have much knowledge about the topic. Then they can search for the information by using their computers. Another example, at times we want to write a letter to our friends and relatives who live far away, but it takes a long time for them to receive the letter. If we use computer to e-mail them, it can reach them in less than one minute. Our message can be conveyed to them in time. Computer is very useful!
On the other hand, if we overuse the computer, it will do harm to us. If we use our computer too close, or if we use our computer too long, we will become near-sighted. Let alone we waste our precious time and ignore our lessons. So I think we should make a schedule in which are written when to do our homework and when to surf the Internet. Thus we not only make use of the advantages the network brings to us, but also prevent the disadvantages it brings to us. 上网的利与弊 现在社会越来越发达，家家户户都有了电脑，而且人人都喜欢上网。
为什么这么多人都喜欢上网呢？因为它给人的工作和生活带来方便，如查资料，听音乐，玩游戏，以及利用它进行沟通与联络等。比如，很多学生在作单元设计时遇到困难，他们对主题没什么认识，那么他们就可以利用电脑查资料，不但可以完成功课，而且还可以学到新知识。又例如，我们有时想写信给远方的亲友，但要好长时间才可以寄到。如果我们用电脑发送e-mail，不要一分钟就可以寄到，我们的信息可以及时准确的传递。电脑的好处真多！
虽然如此，但如果滥用电脑也是有害的。如果我们离电脑太近，或者用电脑太长时间，就会令我们的眼睛近视，并且浪费了我们宝贵的时间，荒废了学业。所以我觉得我们应该做一个时间表，来写上什么时候做功课，什么时候上网，这样既可以利用到网络的优点，又可以防止上网带来的害处。（指导老师：杜美） 作者简介：Liam , 印度人，今年小学六年级了，最近刚刚被一所英文中学录取了。记得春节前，他告诉我爸爸妈妈为他报考什么中学而发生了分歧，他向我征询意见。我觉得Liam是一位谦逊谨慎又懂得照顾妹妹的好孩子。
